| Bowne of Canada – Managing Director – Financial Print Canada The business model in Canada was based on the NQI and Baldrige excellence frameworks, and encompassed a wide range of measures,including customer and employee surveys, team problem solving, customer-supplier alignment training, balanced scorecard, registration to the ISO 9001:2000 standard, an employee assistance program and profit sharing. A challenge board gave every employee a voice to challenge any process or environmental issue they felt warranted attention. Customer satisfaction rose by 6% from 2002 to reach 98% in 2005. By engaging all employees in the business systemmodel, excellence became a part of Bowne’s culture. |

BTB– Owner/Operator – mid size, high- end commercial printer
I was a co-owner in BTB Ltd, a Toronto mid-size printer specializing in high end commercial print. The company was established in 1982 and grew to $15 million in sales and 85 employees by 1993 when it was bought by Bowne and integrated into the Canadian operation.
